Government Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) funding provides free high-quality childcare for children aged 9 months to 4 years for up to 30 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. [i] [ii] Any childcare hours attended by a child in addition to their funded hours, are to be paid for privately by the child’s parent/carer. Taking up additional private hours is not a condition of accessing a free government funded place.
Government FEEE funding is not intended to cover the cost of the following extras;
- Additional childcare hours
- Meals and snacks consumed by the child
- Consumables used by the child, such as nappies and sun cream
- Activities that are not directly related or necessary for the effective delivery of the EYFS

Childcare in addition to funded hours
Childcare sessions in addition to FEEE funded hours must be paid for by the parent/carer in accordance with our terms and conditions. Please contact our administration office for current pricing.
Meals and snacks
Parents/carers wishing for their child to be provided with a meal during their funded hours must pay for their child’s meal privately. To avoid meals charges, parents/carers may wish to provide their child with a packed lunch to be taken at meal times. To ensure that children continue to eat a nutritional well-balanced diet and to ensure the safety of other children, it is a condition that all packed lunches provided by parents/carers meet the requirements set out in the Akhter Early Learning Centre Packed Lunch Policy Appendix A, Packed Lunch – Parent and Carer Responsibilities
Our meal charges;
Breakfast £0.75, Lunch £3.10, Tea £2.50
All snacks are provided free of charge
Consumables
Nappies and wipes should be provided by the parent/carer
Sun cream and washroom consumables are provided free of charge
Activities that are not directly related or necessary for the effective delivery of the EYFS
Price dependent on the activity. All chargeable activities are optional.
Notes: Privately paid for childcare sessions consisting of 5 or more continuous hours include all meals, nappies and wipes. Some activities may incur an addition charge however all chargeable activities are optional.
